ABOUT
The Martyrsford Angora Stud was founded in 1871 by William Carey Hobson of Martyrsford farm, just outside of Jansenville in the Eastern Cape in South Africa.

The stud was established with the purpose of breeding well-built and balanced angora goats for the industry with fleeces that have good length, solidity and yolk.

This is still the purpose of the stud more than a 150 years later.

As the stud turns 152 years old this year, we look back and honor all the sacrifices, toil and determination of those who went before us - and endeavor to uphold the values and practices that has made the Martyrsford Angora Stud one of the leading angora studs in the world.
